Fever do get four days off after this Sunday's game in New York.

Can Sides just not coach defense? That's been the reason why the Fever have half of their loses. Is she gone by the All-star game?

But then she's got a bunch of bad defenders -- NaLyssa Smith, Kelsey Mitchell, Caitlin Clark, for sure. I'm not convinced Aliyah Boston is athletic enough to be a good defender in the W, but that could be on Sides. Her best perimeter defender is probably Lexie Hull, but she can't score at all. Grace Berger looks like a good defender, but it's hard to tell ..

And no timetable for Dantas. If she was injured prior to signing, it looks like a terrible move by Indiana.

Sides is going to be forced to play Berger, Taylor, Saxton and she’s going to cry on the sidelines because of it

Somebody made the point that Aliyah Boston likes to play slow, which doesn't mesh with Clark and Mitchell.
Fagbenle did get down the court in a hurry, and defended, so her loss is big. If Clark and Mitchell have to wait for Boston, then they'll face set defenses; if they don't, Boston's defender just hangs in the paint.

Sides is going to be forced to play Berger, Taylor, Saxton and she’s going to cry on the sidelines because of it Sides is going to be fired. The writing is there and everyone knows it. Too many new pieces in Indiana and she's simply not a good coach to make everyone play well. The talent is definitely there, but Sides doesn't know how to handle all of it.

I'd guess Dunn is still far from pulling the trigger, she'll pull off a bad trade first.

I think Dunn wants to ride for her hire even tho she’s floundering. She’s gonna end up blowing it up or release someone before canning her

Like NaLyssa Smith & Grace Berger going somewhere for a 2025 third rounder.

OK, let's say Christy Sides is a below-average WNBA coach -- in fact, let's say she's bad.
We agree Becky Hammon is a great coach.
Now, put Sides in Las Vegas and Hammon in Indiana from the start of this season. Indiana would be better and Las Vegas worse -- but by how much? How many games can a coach win for a team? Or, to put it another way, what is the relative importance of coaching versus talent?
My guess is that Hammon in Indiana probably has three or four wins, and the Fever are still one of the weaker teams in the league.
If you replace Sides with an average WNBA coach -- Sandy Brondello, say -- do the Fever have four wins right now? Or two?
And given the lack of practice time during a WNBA season, whatever Indiana is doing now is what they'll pretty much be doing all year.
