IMO, Berger needs to get out of Indiana if she wants a career in the WNBA now. Fever also have Maya Caldwell itching for a spot, too. Berger won't get minutes on this roster.
yep, it doesn’t matter whether she’s stuck behind Clark/Wheeler at the PG spot, KMitchell at the SG spot, or whatever’s going on at the SF spot. it seems Berger will be blocked from development at every turn so long as she stays on this roster. an unfortunate development, considering she was a local product and surely made inroads with local college fans.
that said, a whole new swath of fans are incoming because of Clark. if you’re the Fever, you trade Berger now amidst the chaos within all the hype while she may still have even bottom-level trade value, or just subtly leave her off the final roster when it’s announced. (ideally not of course – it’d be yet another 1RP the Fever have wasted in recent years.)
I like Berger's game, and I think she may have a good shot in Indiana if she can play small forward. KLS and Victoria Vivians are not exactly all-stars, so there might be some minutes to be earned there.

there might be, but considering Vivians and KLS are getting paid well over $300k combined this year, the team – or at least the front office – probably prefers one of those two being part of the core of starters. Dunn & Co. would probably quietly deter Christie Sides from giving Berger even as big a role as either of the two, let alone a bigger one – even if Berger had rightfully earned it.
i mean, it's bad enough that Dunn's ""big signing"" of last year, Erica Wheeler who'll be making an easy $200k this year, is surely about to be relegated to the bench. that contract, even while it is scheduled to end after this year, can't end soon enough.
If the plan is to start Clark/Mitchell/Samuelson that will be by far the worst defensive backcourt in the league. They may score a lot on some nights. But most they’ll be giving up close to 90 points every night. It’s why I think they need to trade Mitchell. There aren’t enough balls to go around for everyone else.
if that’s true, then the Indiana Fever are BACK. this might’ve been the perfect team to end up with her – the franchise that truly needed her the most.

Back where exactly? Lol
at least back to 2011-levels. watchable, potentially more than just ‘watchable’ product on the court. butts in seats. i really had to spell it out like that? lmao
Clark's going to get sponsorship deals nonstop once she's drafted. That notion clearly doesn't apply to Clark. However, a player possibly going in the second or third round that will struggle to make a roster should stay in school as long as possible.

Fever were first in the East in 2011. Thinking this current Fever roster which will only have one good defender in the starting lineup will be anything close to that is peak delusion. Just hope they actually make the playoffs first. There are quite a few teams ahead of them they will struggle with because their guards and Nalyssa can’t guard a parked car.

Let's see if Clark's fan base will attend all 20 games this summer. I believe all season tickets are counting in daily attendance figures whether they show up or not. If Indiana is a borderline playoff team this season, they might stick around to see the majority of games in person.
hence why i said “watchable” product. i’m not naïve enough to think they’re instant contenders with Clark this year. they’re still just a borderline playoff team, and that’s if they have decent luck with keeping everyone healthy.
but considering where this franchise has been the past seven years, they’ve already come pretty far. most of that progress has only come about since they drafted Boston and moved back into [the arena that’s now called] Gainbridge Fieldhouse fulltime a mere 11 months ago, but still.
Vivians never could quite do enough, but in a way, it's a good sign that a mediocre player no longer can find a home in the league -- though of course she could be picked up by someone tomorrow.
Now they only have two good defenders left on the team(Aliyah and Lexie) Fever gonna find out real quick that this ain’t college…. The ole let’s outscore everyone plan ain’t gonna work.
Also they shouldn’t never given Vivian’s two years guaranteed in the first place
