I could be okay with this team running it all back next year if McCoughtry and Charles sign for cheap as bench pieces. All aboard the Title Express 🚂 (I know no one else wants to see Charles get a title at this point, but oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Don't think Taurasi leaves Phoenix unless it's for LA where her family is. Don't think McCoughtry is done either, if her campaign to make Team USA is any indication (even if it failed). And I don't even think a "cursed" Tina Charles could hex this Vegas group, unless it caused one of their Core Four to get injured. Then maybe I'd start buying into such a curse. Finally, I don't see Nneka taking a severe paycut just to join Vegas' bench, I guess along with Chiney. Not like Nneka at least should be title-starved.
Reaches, all of them! 😉

Weird thinking about players playing while pregnant. Diggins claimed Dallas forced her to play while pregnant iirc. I think we calculated Cheyenne Parker played the first part of the 2021 season while pregnant. Sort of a strange decision to make if it even is one at all (depending on if there are league rules), because if you can & decide to play, at what point do you/should you stop? End of the first trimester? Perhaps it has to do with how much maternity leave one can have – I also don't know the specific rules with that.
Hats off to these players, cuz if it were me, idk if I would want to play while knowing I was pregnant at all, even in the very early stages. One hit or kick in the groin, and 😖

WNBA players have played into their 5th month of pregnancy. Jia Perkins played into her 6th month at Texas Tech. She was afraid she would lose her scholarship if she told anybody she was pregnant and somehow got in her head that the scholarship became guaranteed in January so she played until then.
Still playing during the months when some start to show is crazy to me 🤯 Would make me fear a shot to the groin that much more… but Perkins & others do what they feel they gotta do, I guess. 😕

Did Diggins say she was forced to play or that it was her own decision? I think that was under the old CBA where pregnancy pay was only half. As I understand it the CBA gives players 100% pay for their entire pregnancy and time needed to recover. Also - women don't usually know they are pregnant right away. Parker played until the Olympic break might have just seemed like a good time. In her Player Trib essay she mentioned that she didn't even know what the pregnancy policy was until she looked it up.

Diggins-Smith first tweeted on Friday night: "Having no support from your own organization is unfortunate," but didn't provide any details on what she was referring to.
Then, Saturday afternoon, Diggins-Smith sent out three tweets in a brief stretch.
"The blasts that disrespect of mothers (and our rights) in the WNBA is incredible. I can't wait until you hear my story FROM ME!"
That was followed by:
"People called me a quitter, said I gave up on my team, etc., etc.
"Not knowing I took two FULL months away from everything because of postpartum depression. With limited resources to help me be successful mentally/physically.
"But just wait though....KEEP THAT SAME ENERGY."
And then:
"I played the ENTIRE season pregnant last year! All star, and led league (top 3-5) in MPG....didn't tell a soul."
The pregnancy happened in 2018, and then all of this came out shortly after the conclusion of the 2019 season that she sat out.
It’s interesting how the “people called me a quitter” soundbite reads now with the 2022 season having happened. Probably a good thing for her that she’s no longer on Twitter.

Damn, I was kinda hoping she'd stay with Nike her whole career, since she wore it at UW, got signed to Nike after being drafted, and has continued to wear Nike in the pros. 😓
