This trade does not fix the biggest issue with the Mystics. A more dynamic starting wing who can score and do it all. They still need more scoring. But maybe EDD or Shakira will be out longer than expected?. I don’t think this makes the Mystics any better than they are now.
Why would Indiana agree to that, Zahui B isn't worth anything?
Dunn remains in her “bad roster management” era, oy vey. this is good though for Egbo’s young career imo. Indiana better hope Boston doesn’t get hurt this season.
AZB been awful. So removing her from the Mystics makes them better immediately. Two young, athletic post players for the future is a win for the Mystics.

They have Cannon, Saxton, and now AZB! Don’t you worry!

Is this the best the Mystics could find? With players going to Mexico now, the options for hardship contracts are getting slimmer. Where's all the draft picks from this year and 2022 that didn't make a roster?

although on that note, how are players like Saxton, Sissoko, and undrafted Liz Dixon still on rosters? 😩

Cheap rookies that will fit a team's salary cap. A shame Charli Collier didn't stick around as she could have landed in Phoenix or LA by now. Hell, I'd take her in NY over E. Prince on a hardship.
counterpoint: there are always overseas vets with 0-2 yrs of W experience sitting at home for the summer. in that way, Cyesha Goree makes more sense to me than these low-ceiling rookies whom add absolutely nothing of substance to a W team – and might not ever.
Unless you're sitting in the room with the decision-makers, it's hard to know all the factors involved ...
But in general, I think the professionals aren't idiots and have sound reasons for the decisions they make. Those reasons may not be apparent to those of us outside the room, but they could range from attitude to perceived potential to an acknowledgement that the bottom end of the roster is meaningless in terms of wins and losses.
My guess is most of it revolves around attitude, and the willingness to sit at the end of the bench and cheer and not complain to the coaches and other players about minutes and how much better you are than the starter, and how the coach plays favorites.
imo that’s underselling how many players with either talent or experience [or both] are out there who wouldn’t mind being the 11th/12th player on a WNBA roster, despite being the star on their college/overseas team. i’d just like to think a lot of them are out there.
as it relates to domestic wbb, i do sometimes think it’s about who you know.
I know my high school coaching has little connection with the WNBA, but when I've coached a girl and I know her attitude, how she practices and how well we communicate, and all those things are positive, I'm taking her for the end of the bench over a player who might be slightly better but I have no connection with.
