Does Thibault go with a Joens, Haley Jones or someone like Ayoka Lee or Kitley?
If he gets the #3 or #4: He goes with Joens, unless Jones really improves from the 3PT line this year. (Jones has more upside than Joens afaic.)
If he gets the #2: Imo that's (Maryland product) Diamond Miller's rightful place so long as she finishes the season healthy.
If he gets the #1 again: Should he trade down again? Do the Mystics need Boston now that they have Austin? Or does he keep Boston cuz she's too good and trade Austin instead? Which center – which "city" player?

Obviously things depend on which pick they get. Mystics also have a lot of cap space. Clark probably comes back for one more year. I wonder if they bring back Christyn Williams, too?

Mystics could be a landing spot for A. Gray if the Dallas trade rumors are true. The Mystics could trade her for or the LA pick if is No. 4 and they don't think much of the prospects. Gray is a little bigger and certainly younger than Clark (now 35) so she might fill the 3 spot well. They probably can put together the cap space to sign a really good FA (they were already paying Clark 183k).
As good as Austin will probably turn out, the Mystics need help in the post. And I don't think Machida worked out in the W. The defensive pressure was too much for her to do her thing in this league. Her game flourishes when she has a weak defender on her and do her flashy passes. This might be where Christyn Williams comes in or Evina Westbrook.
...well, I guess Thibault, Sr. is staying put as GM, so hello&goodbye to no one, really.
I'm glad the splitting of GM & HC roles into two different people seems to be happening across the League this offseason. All in one just doesn't feel ethical. Maybe it’s secretly Engelbert who's initiating this, but either way, it’s a good trend imo.

Can't see Dad firing him, so he's probably somewhat immune from the usual consequences of failure (or insufficient success). At least until it gets bad enough to fire Dad as well. DC is pretty stacked so it's a good job to inherit.
