Candace Parker has signed to Guangdong in China for their playoffs. She's replacing Yelena Leuchanka. I guess it's because she's going to play for her national team in Eurobasket, but I'd imagine her getting slapped in the face a couple times by opposing players (on purpose) may have helped with that decision. Here's a game from the Polish League from yesterday. Energa Torun vs Sleza Wroclaw. Sleza Wroclaw won 75-72. Former WNBA point guard Sharnee Zoll had 10 points 12 assists for Wroclaw. Matee Ajavon had 14 points 3 assists for Torun. Sound is not working on the video.
A couple what I would consider to be upsets in EuroLeague today. Nadezhda lost to Wisla Can-Pack 54-51. This isn't the same Can-Pack as last year that was pretty loaded with Vandersloot, Quigley, and Lavender. So I was pretty surprised. Also Schio defeating Fenerbahce IN Istanbul (60-66) was a surprise as well. Quigley did not have a great game with only 8 points on 4-13 shooting. Castors Braine defeating Bourges Basket (63-55) I would consider a mild upset as well. Although it was in Belgium and they've been able to beat and stay with some pretty good teams, so they're probably better than I give them credit for. I mean they do have Sidney Spencer
I saw about a week or so ago that Natalie Achonwa left her team in Italy (Napoli) because she was having knee problems. She went back to Canada. This is probably why she was at NBA All Star Weekend but did not participate in the Celebrity game like she was originally supposed to (replaced by Tammy Sutton-Brown).
