Which I wonder why a pro volleyball league hasn't taken off. Athletes Unlimited has it, but it barely gets noticed. There's a new league kicking off this winter. But there's been pro leagues in the past that have failed.
This draft has 3 big stars: Clark, Reese & Brink. Indiana Fever are seeing quadruple ticket sales and have soldout the entire lower bowl of Gainbridge just on season tickets. Clark and Reese are seeing very high ticket demand and prices for most of their away games already. Brink might be the biggest name to go to the Sparks since Candace Parker. Hopefully this will get the Sparks organization moving in the right direction.
It's certainly better to have the hype than not have it, but again, decisions are made about which sport to take seriously in middle school. I'm sure middle schoolers in the Midwest are all in on Clark-mania. Not so sure about Florida and California, say ...
