Iowa guard Caitlin Clark has signed with Excel Sports Management, per a news release.
Clark is one of the most recognizable college athletes in the country, but until now, Clark has amassed several impressive NIL deals and partnerships without a management team. She already has deals with Nike, State Farm and Topps trading cards, among others.
Excel also represents Tiger Woods, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning as well as an impressive women’s basketball roster of three-time WNBA All-Star Arike Ogunbowale, three-time WNBA All-Star and Olympic gold medalist Napheesa Collier and WNBA All-Rookie player NaLyssa Smith. Clark will be represented by Alan Zucker, Colleen Garrity and Erin Kane.
“I’m lucky to just be starting my career at a time when sports are intertwined with business and entertainment more so than ever before,” Clark said in a release. “Excel has an incredible track record of helping clients extend their profile and impact far beyond the bounds of their sport and pursue different passions while also competing at the highest level.
“Personally, I am looking forward to being part of innovative partnerships, helping to elevate women’s sports and supporting others through the Caitlin Clark Foundation.”
Clark, the 2023 Naismith winner, catapulted to fame with her triple-doubles and seemingly limitless shooting range. She led Iowa to a national title game appearance last season and became the first player in NCAA women’s basketball history to record more than 1,000 points and 300 assists in the same season.
Clark has said she’s approaching the 2023-24 season as her final college season. However, she could eschew the 2024 WNBA Draft and return to college hoops for one more season because of the COVID-19 bonus season. If she enters next year’s draft, she’s expected to be a lottery pick, and could jostle for the top selection against Angel Reese and Paige Bueckers (who both also have potential to return for future seasons).
