The inaugural draft took place today and is almost over. The first puck drops in January! Teams were announced in August, but in case missed it:
Canadian teams: Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto US teams: Boston, Minnesota, New York
I haven't paid attention to women's hockey much but the draft is kinda nice, just vibing to the music between picks with no Holly Rowe rambling away. Sorry, no offense, but it's true. Gonna try and follow this league.
If the draft tweets are any indication of what the teams primary color will be: Montreal (maroon), Ottawa (red), Toronto (blue) Boston (green), Minnesota (purple), New York (teal)

Still uncertain about this league and how it forced the PHF and their teams to fold up.
Ooo what! I didn't know that; I thought it was just a merger (but maybe that was the PHF and the Canada league?). It's kind of confusing reading about it. From what I'm finding, it seems like the players were part of the driving force to get the PWHL?

The owners of the PWHL, more or less, bought out the PHF and their teams. Don't expect any of the PWHL teams to carry over the names of the PHF teams playing in the same cities. And certain former players of the PHF are being locked out from playing in the PWHL.
No team names, poor broadcasting deal, lack of organization. They should have just acquired the PHF teams and went from there. The New York team will play half of the games in Connecticut and half on Long Island.
