Rachel not doing free agency breaking news is sad. She goes on to say the amount of work involved and also the fact the others steal her news and don't credit her. What a shame.

we shall see. i don’t know if there’ll be a truly ‘quiet’ free agency period ever again. definitely not the absolute silence it used to be year after year before the current CBA was enacted.
Galligan will definitely be missed. hope it’s not a permanent hiatus, but if she’s turned off by others stealing her work without crediting her (assuming that’s really what has happened to her historically), i can’t say i blame her.

Which sadly leaves us to rely on Voepel, Megdal and Winsdr for free agency news. All three have incorrectly reported free agency news in the past.
and Alexa Philippou, who has also been hit or miss. she apparently got wind of the Jordin Canada trade-seeking news. so perhaps she & Andraya Carter will be ones who we’ll be hearing from somewhat often this year… for better or worse.

Phoenix's #3 pick & Onyenwere to Washington for Delle Donne?
as long as the Thibault’s believe they don’t need to draft another center, i’m good with this. if they think Shakira Austin could feasibly be played at the 4 though… 🤔

Egbo becomes the 5th post if Washington drafts Cardoso at #3. Hines-Allen & Onyenwere at PF. Or Thibault asks for Jefferson instead if Cloud is going elsewhere.

where Cloud ends up will be incredibly important to how Washington approaches their free agency, assuming they themselves are still in the running for her. and how Washington in particular approaches things will imo affect the entire rest of the league, perhaps the most out of any other team.
if teams out there really think Sheldon can be a W-level point guard… otherwise i don’t see there being many options for high-level rookie PGs this year beyond Caitlin Clark.
i do wonder if Ashley Owusu will be able to play her way back into the draft picture. she has produced in the couple games she’s been back in. Owusu should be out of eligibility at the end of the season, though i’m not convinced she’ll stay both healthy and high-functioning from now until then. if she could though, it’d make this draft that much more interesting, especially considering the lack of PGs this class has.

Shakira can’t shoot, she absolutely can not be a PF.

that’s what i would think, too. so then let’s just hope Washington gives Phoenix EDD for that pick.
