fascinating that a deal's already done. moving fast, which is good for the sake of the remaining Gopher players who are surely still weighing their options.
i did think Plitzuweit's move from the great plains to the rust belt was something of a drastic one. maybe the stark change of scenery has been to tough a mountain to climb per se for the current leader of the Mountaineers. still, after one year she's ready to bolt? that doesn't seem like a good sign.
i haven't heard much of anything from Fralick out of what appears to be Bowling Green, idk if any of y'all have. but upon doing a little research, is it correct that she hasn't even led Bowling Green to the Tourney yet? that would be a dealbreaker for me.
is it Duffy or Bust at this point?

i have to wonder why she hated [being at] West Virginia so much. you don’t leave in a lateral move after one year if the vibes weren’t completely off. is the West Virginia area really that much more miserable than South Dakota & Minnesota?
congrats, Gopher fans. hope Plitzuweit works out – and that her buyout from WVU isn’t too costly. i’m still fascinated by how the whole thing played out.
According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, all four members of Whalen's highly regarded freshman class -- Mara Braun, Mallory Heyer, Nia Holloway and Amaya Battle -- intend to remain at Minnesota despite Whalen's departure.
certainly not too late for Micheaux to go on to change her mind and rescind her name from the portal. that’s the nice thing about already having a coach. that entire uncertainly for the current student-athletes over who’s taking over for Whalen is now gone.

Personally (yes, I will admit some bias here), but I think Minnesota is a step up from WVU. Better location, booming talent pool, better conference, pretty good facilities.
Plus her base salary at WVU was 550k, and we are giving her 800k.... so even money is step up.

oh for sure, I’ve never been to either state but Minnesota is objectively better than West Virginia. that’s just a lot of moving and breaking of commitments, but, since the money was confirmed to be a step up, these factors combined make the move make sense.
i wonder what happens to WVU’s one(?) 2023 recruit, a 5-10 guard from Wisconsin. and if anyone currently on the roster follows Plitzuweit. a good amount of them already had transferred in from other schools, so probably not? who knows.
“Under the old administration, it was time for me to leave,” he said. This suggests the school’s previous athletic director Shane Lyons may have been a reason behind the end of his run and why he may now want to return to serve under current athletic director Wren Baker.
