yeah... i would say the first three quarters of the game were entirely on brand for us 😅 still happy U-Dub got the dub and will move on. i hope our school continues to shell out the coins to be able to keep hosting, as that could make all the difference with whether or not we'll make a deep run.
My Alma Mater, Western Kentucky, got to open in Allen Fieldhouse. 3rd quarter slump took them out of the game. Home friendly officiating and Kansas post player were the difference. I can't believe there is a 10 foul difference between the physicality of Conference USA and the Big 12. 6' can't guard 6'6" very effectively for long. It would have helped if WKU had made more 3-pointers. Good luck to the Jayhawks. They might as well win the WNIT.
It's pretty clear there's a definite divided between P5 schools and the mid-majors. And some Ivy League teams aren't mid-majors because they do have a tremendous recruiting advantage if they want to take a sport seriously.
Yeah, all of the non-P5 schools (six of them) who made the WNIT Final 16 haven't played a P5 school yet. In fact there hasn't been a single victory of a non-P5 school over a P5 school in the WNIT. Amazing stat.
it’s funny to me that Washington is hosting Kansas State for the WNIT’s “Super Sixteen” (which, lmao at them calling it that) on campus at the exact time there’ll be an actual Sweet Sixteen game going on downtown. 🫠

Parity does not go very deep in the non P5. In CUSA, MTSU won the regular season by 4 games and breezed through the conference tournament. And got blown out by a red-hot Colorado in the NCAA Everyone else beat each other up and had at least 6 conference losses. There may not be as much gap in some. But it is hard for a non P5 to get a noncon schedule to get a resume for a decent seed no matter how they dominate their conference. I thought MTSU deserved a 7 seed but would get a 9 but the got stuck with an 11.
Unfortunately, a solid Falcons’ win turned ugly in the postgame handshake line when Memphis fifth-year senior guard Jamirah Shutes punched BGSU senior guard Elissa Brett. Brett fell to the floor, was down for a minute while being attended to by BGSU players and coaches, and walked back to the locker room.
Players and coaches were directed back to their respective locker rooms. The Stroh Center crowd was irate as well, and police made their way onto the court.
it's only been one quarter, but my west-coast Huskies look like they'll lose to the D*cks for the third time in four tries this season. obviously hate that with blinding fury, but i mostly just want all our players to finish out this season healthy. next season's gonna be the one where we'll receive some heightened expectations, so we'll need all hands on deck for that.
welp, at least no matter what happens today, we lasted longer this season than the east-coast Huskies did – who would've predicted that? 🤩😉
