Am I the only one who feels like HVL is a bit overhyped? She's a great player but I am unconvinced she is elite caliber. I feel like folks are blinded by the HS recruiting ranking and her history with USA basketball... (and her image...)

Her numbers this season shows that she struggles to be *the* main offensive option for a team - more turnovers than assists and bad shooting percentages. Louisville's defense propelled their success more than her leading the offense. I would agree she's not elite.
As for her WNBA prospects, her size and lack of on-ball ability are problems. I'm not ruling her out of making it, but it's going to be an uphill battle.
wasn’t she just singin' praises about Louisville & how it was such a good fit for her on the Bird & Taurasi show?? LMAO
tbh i love this move for her because i didn’t like how she was being developed as a high-volume SG at Louisville, BUT i don’t really want her to come home to Washington. 🥶 the development of our incoming top freshman PG Sayvia Sellers (remember the name, btw) needs to be our priority and i don’t want the last-minute arrival of anyone getting in the way of that. maybe playing back here in Seattle recently changed her, although she never considered playing for Washington before. the “do not contact” thing though is interesting…
i’ll guess that she’s gonna end up at an Oregon school. both Oregon and Oregon State were in her list of finalists, and both are desperately hurting for more guard talent these days.
HVL should have just entered the WNBA draft. Would have been a first rounder.
nah, i’m glad she didn’t. with only a few exceptions, i think most players need to stay in school for as long as they can. and at this point, i hope that wherever she goes, she stays the full two seasons instead of just one. and i really hope that place tries developing her as a PG. she may not be elite, but imo she has the necessary talent to make the switch.

I think HVL is closer to Aari McDonald than an actual point guard. They have different offensive strengths (McDonald is better getting to the rim while HVL is a better shooter) but I think they have the same offensive mentality and it doesn't involve a lot of passing. Actually HVL would do pretty well to end up like McDonald, but she'd need the right team situation to flourish.
imo they both need to be PGs in the W though because of their lack of size. although at the same time, teams really value scoring PGs, and they are scorers at their very core, which is why i don’t think the making the jump to PG is unrealistic IF a team is willing to take the time to develop them as such. i like how McDonald is coming along in Atlanta, even if she once again won’t be starting this year. but she was definitely the full-time PG in her last season with Arizona – and putting up more assists than turnovers. i hope HVL will be one and does the same wherever she ends up for her last college year(s), too. 😬
naturally Prince is going to where Mark Campbell is
could be that Rogers (even if she isn't currently in the portal) and/or Paopao is next
this is a great time for Campbell to be building a program in the Big 12, considering there's no true power and Texas & Oklahoma are leaving soon
with his recruiting skills, especially if he's already getting [back] talent he previously successfully recruited, TCU's turnaround might be even quicker than expected
Iowa sports reporters on twitter who became WBB "experts" in the last two weeks (hmm I wonder why???) need to realize WE LITERALLY HAVE ZERO SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR 2023 OR 2024.
That includes not having a scholarship for Clark to even take a COVID year, unless a roster spot opens up in the meantime.

Also HVL marked herself as “Do not contact” in the portal so she might be announcing her destination soon too
So much speculation as to where she's headed. Oregon? LSU? Stanford? UCONN? Iowa?
Baylor when Mulkey was around was reportedly her runner-up. it could very well be LSU – y'know, if the Tigers don't end up with Ashley Owusu or [now officially] Endyia Rogers. sure seems like they 'll be getting at least one of those three guards though.
