The biggest surprise was the omission of the LSU Tigers forward Angel Reese, who is averaging 23.4 points and 15.6 rebounds and is considered one of the top players in the country.
However, LSU confirmed to ESPN on Saturday that Reese is not eligible for the final 15, as she does not meet all the criteria for the Wooden Award.
That criteria is listed as follows: Candidates must be full-time students making progress toward graduation and have a cumulative 2.00 grade-point average since enrolling in their school. They also must exhibit strength of character, both on and off the court; should contribute to team effort, excel in both offense and defense and should be considered on their performance over the course of the entire season.
Tired: She ain’t eligible for the award cuz she deadass might be failing school
Conspired: That’s why she had to transfer from Maryland to begin with, and also sorta how she ended up at LSU 🙂
It seems a bit silly to me to force aspiring professional sportspeople to go to college to develop their sporting skills, but for better or for worse, that's how talent development works at the moment in US women's basketball.

Although if Angel Reese really is in academic dire straits but is majoring in something like communications?? Like, I’m sorry, but you have to be making a conscious effort not to get above a 2.0 in those level of classes 😩😩😩 oof
