Just saw how late the French league is scheduled to go to. Guess that confirms that Gabby Williams won't be playing in the W again anytime soon.
Early in the league season, it looked like Lyon was in good position to make the finals, therefore earning her that suspension, but now the top four all look pretty strong and there are some teams below them that have the talent to challenge them in the playoffs.
Here the current players for those top four teams who would not be able to play in the WNBA this season if they made the finals:
Bourges: Kayla Alexander
Lattes Montpellier: Haley Peters
Lyon: Blake Dietrick, Sandrine Gruda, Gabby Williams
In the Liberty's recent press conference with JJ, they mentioned Johannes as coming over. Can't imagine she comes right over after the season is done, plays a few weeks in the W, the goes back for EuroBasket.
Just dove through some of your articles. Is the Russian league not providing updates? I can only remember Unique Thompson as the lone American who's gone over but I'm sure there's a few more.

I have less time than last season so I dropped some leagues from regular coverage, including Russia, and focused more time on a weekly column that gives me the chance to point out things happening anywhere in the world. I am mostly ignoring Russia and Belarus due to the degree that they are cut off from the rest of the basketball world.
Besides Thompson, Alex Bentley (she had an existing contract for this season and chose to return), Mya Hollingshed, Ashley Beverly Kelley, Pre Stanley (who subsequently left due to performance level), and Ezinne Kalu part way through the season are the Americans who have played there so far. Canadian Saicha Grant-Allen is also there along with Eva Lisec (who stayed in Russia after the war started) and Nika Baric from Slovenia. In terms of players from countries with less strong positions regarding the war, La Mama Kapinga Maweja from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tina Krajisnik, Nevena Jovanovic, and Sanja Mandic of Serbia, and Isabela Ramona of Brazil are playing there right now.
