Some people really enjoy college life, including going to class. With NIL money available, it's a much more viable option than before.
Others, of course, would just as soon never take another test again, and are ready to go to Europe and go to work.
The WNBA would love to have Caitlin Clark sooner rather than later, but if she can make as much (or more) money in college, and likes being a student, there's not much the league can do except break its own rules.

She might as well return if possible. With a torn ACL it seems unlikely she would be ready to play anytime during the WNBA season. She might have some appeal as a deferral pick, if the NCAA doesn't give her a waiver.

she appeared in 13 games, so i’d be really surprised if she were granted an extra season, as that’s the precedent it would set
they have to know the chances of it being granted are slim

Might as well for Soares. She'd be a draft and stash pick this year.

I don't see why players should feel obligated to turn pro if they have eligibility remaining. NIL $ may also take some of the motivation out of turning pro. College life is fun, turning pro is working for living......what's the rush? Exactly. Everyone saying what she should and shouldn't do. How about whatever makes her happy? smh

I’m taking Paige over Caitlin. Especially if she can get healthy. Caitlin is a very weak defender. And her shot selection is absolutely trash.

I’m taking Caitlin over Paige. Idk if Paige will ever get healthy. Caitlin is incredible on offense. And her shot selection is absolutely fun!

Given Clark's incredible shooting and assist numbers, I think one can live with substandard defense. I mean look at Kelsey Plum - are you really going to throw her off your pro team because her defence is meh? lol. It's been repeatedly demonstrated that elite offense wins championships in the modern WNBA. Also Clark's shot selection can seem funny at times but you can't question the very good results from it. 47% from the field and 38% from three for such a high usage player is pretty damn good. I think one could live with the occasional ill advised shot from her.
Bueckers vs Clark - I think you would want to see at least one more fully healthy season from Bueckers before even considering her over Clark. Here's hoping we can see that next season.

Clark has grown a lot as a defender in the last two years. From "terrible" to "averagely bad for a star player." With elite rim protection behind her and elite wing defenders beside her, Bueckers has always had to carry much less weight defensively ever since she got to UConn.

if all three of Clark, Brink & Bueckers enter 2024, I'm taking Clark #1. Best pure shooter the WNBA draft has seen since Kelsey Plum. And Clark has more range, is a high-quality passer and can handle defensive traps more easily.

Getting from bad on d to average might have made a huge difference in a lot of good shooters' pro careers. Getting from bad to average on shooting might help a lot of good defenders. Unfortunately, most players and coaches work to hide their weaknesses more than improve them.

Re Paige Bueckers: The best ability is availability.

Aubrey Griffin a possible early first round pick in this draft? she didn’t participate in Senior Day, so unless she makes a game-time decision on turning pro, i accept that she probably won’t this year i’ll publish something of a full list soon

Yeah, there's just talk of her being in the elite class of this draft. Guaranteed first round pick though?

she’s a second-rounder in my eyes, i don’t see someone with this limitless ceiling – more so someone with specific tools/qualities that a team would need to be looking for to give her a chance

She is not getting away with that shot selection in the wnba. No wnba teammate is putting up with that. No coach is either. We see how far playing like that has gotten Sabrina. And her defense might be even worse.

I'd have Edwards as the fourth lotto pick over Reese now. Muhl should be a first rounder, too. Curious to see if Paopao can improve her shooting next year to slide her into the first round. That's four PGs already in the first round.
