What are y’all giving up then to get her? for someone who incidentally could only be a 1-yr rental
We have the number 3,8, and 15th pick. I’d do one pick and maybe the rights to Tiffany Hayes or so. Or AD whatever… I think she would like to come back home.

Is Gray gonna be a RFA or UFA after the season? I would be wary to give up much if she’s a UFA, if I’m Atlanta or Chicago (pending all their FAs signing elsewhere). Washington and Connecticut are contenders so a one year rental could feel worth it.
Atlanta: rights to Hayes plus Wallace Chicago: Allemand plus #5 if Sloot returns Connecticut: Clouden plus #10 plus ‘24FRP (draft night deal) Washington: Hines-Allen plus #4
I see Gray as an all star caliber 3 and D wing with slashing skills and midrange game. Not sure what the trade value would be, could be way off 🙊
If I’m Dallas with those offers, I take Washington’s.
Oof…..well if chicago and Atlanta are confident in their ability to bring in more talent, as well as convince Allisha to stay, then I guess go for it! Aari plus Gray and Howard is a nice defensive perimeter. That’s really where I hope she ends up. Though I’ve always wanted to steal her from Dallas to New York 😈😈
Be kind to yourself, the way you expect others to be kind to you.
I think it’s inevitable that the Wings are not going to receive fair value for Gray in a trade. I agree she’s a borderline all star 2 way wing. What Dallas need is somebody equivalent to replace her and I don’t think anybody is going to offer that. 2023 draft picks definitely can’t compensate for her and are teams willing to trade 2024 first rounders for her? I doubt it. The Wings got decent service from her so I rescind my Poor Wings comment lol
Allisha Gray is a very good player in her prime (28). It appears that she and Dallas mutually agree she should move on, as she wants to be a free agent in 2024, and it makes sense for Dallas (not a title contender) to get something for her.
But unless Gray just hates playing in Dallas, I'm not sure she would like playing in Atlanta any better, or for any other non-contender. Gray, it seems to me, is the piece that could push a team from borderline contender to serious contender, and so maybe Chicago or Connecticut makes more sense. From a business standpoint, Gray doing well on a good team would generate a bigger contract than putting up empty numbers for a bad team.
Then again, it's hard to say how much Gray's desires will play into the upcoming trade. Dallas may not care at all about considering her needs, but in the small world of women's basketball, that could come back to haunt the Wings down the road.
As for the return for Gray, draft choices are pretty worthless, in general (you can get lucky, of course), so getting someone who can actually deliver WNBA-caliber minutes in 2023 is probably the best option. But that may not be available.
Just wanna say, Wings fans are perhaps not thinking clearly if they think they’ll get a good package in exchange for a single year of Gray (and nothing else).

Allisha is from Georgia. She absolutely would want to play here. We’re not on the list for no reason lol. And she would have way more offensive freedom here too.
I would not trade the #3 for maybe one year of Gray in what still looks like a non-contending year for the Dream.
The Dream will be firmly in the playoffs this season. They need to give Rhyne some teammates who will stay healthy and take pressure off of her. I think a trade will depend upon if she(Allisha) agrees to sign an extension or not. People are really underestimating how much she possibly wants to come back home lol. We have more of a chance than people think.

Doesn’t mean they’ll be an actual contender though. Hell, we had maybe five true contenders in 2022? Some would’ve argued four or even just three.
