I still think Bueckers is better than Clark defensively, but Clark seems to have the edge on Bueckers with both scoring ability and overall durability at this point.
It'd be crazy if Bueckers went #1 overall in 2023 and Clark went #1 overall in 2024 – to the same team. 👀

The new backcourt of Indiana....
But as we know, teams like Indiana, Atlanta, and Dallas sadly just don't have that kind of Lottery Luck. ☹️ It would seem more likely to happen to one of the currently good teams imo, even taking the two-year record stipulation into account...

Can’t wait until they are the starting backcourt for the Lynx!

Imagine the Liberty fail to get into the playoffs and get the #1 pick. Bueckers and Ionescu together wouldn't be fair. Of course, New York should take Boston next year if they end up with it.

If anyone can find a way to get local talent on her team – even if it's not right from the outset – it's Cheryl Reeve. 🥴
Stealing this from Voldemort someone on rebs, but it may as well be documented here that Paige Bueckers apparently said she plans to stay all four years of college and graduate (thus take herself out of consideration for the 2023 Draft), but may even return for a fifth year – I'm guessing depending on if it'll be more lucrative for her to do so than turn pro. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Aliyah Boston should undoubtedly remain the One. Probably would've anyway even with Bueckers in the Draft Pool with her, tbh.

You mean like Banham? In any case, I don't see much in Reeves GM scorecard to suggest she has any special talent for anything other than coaching (where she certainly does.)
Haley Jones is a really good basketball player who can't, or won't, shoot. At her size, if she's unable to make outside shots, it's hard to see a role for her in the W.
The other names mentioned above have similar issues, but that's true of pretty much every draft in every league. There are very few sure things (and I'm not completely sold on Boston).
If New York ends up in the lottery AND they don't land the #1 pick, I really think they should trade it for a PG. Bring Wheeler to NY. #2 pick to Atlanta for Wheeler and the Dream's first round pick?

Wheeler is a UFA after this season, so NY can sign her without giving anything to the Dream. That aside, I like the deal. It would be pretty ironic that she went from the first team to cut to the another team that cut her and got a lot of money from both along the way.
Gabby Williams is a taller, more athletic version of Haley Jones, and she's a starter for a good team. Jones might be able to carve out a role for herself if she can be a top-shelf wing defender and make an occasional outside shot. But No. 2 overall? If so, the talent pool is shallower than I thought.
