Cambage has fallen out with teammates and there remains friction between her and team leaders. According to team sources, some teammates are still in disbelief about the whole affair. However, there is a general feeling among players and officials that it’s time for the Opals to move on, even though Cambage remains the team’s best player. At this point, team sources say it’s unlikely she will be in the selection frame for a comeback at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
No surprise. Does eliminate Australia as a medal contender in the 2022 World Cup. But this likely means she'll play in the W again for 2022 since she's not playing overseas or in the WNBL this winter.
By now we've probably seen/heard the now-fully revealed description of the Cambage incident that led her to be disassociated with the Australian National Team, but it may as well be documented here. This reveal is also now going viral on the Twitterverse.

I just think did the Aces not do any investigating at all last year or what? Did they condone this? If an nba player would have done this I would have expected some sort of suspension

And on that note, will the Sparks and/or the League respond to this at all in any form now that the truth is out?
I’m all for a lifetime ban of Cambage in the League fwiw. Since they try to placate to the players of the League, it may depend on their overall response – though I doubt WNBPA President & Sparks teammate Nneka Ogwumike says anything (interesting).

The silence from the Oguwmikes is loud to me too. WNBA reporters should ask today after the game.

Basically, all the owners, execs and players in the WNBA are "looking the other way" when it comes to Liz. I don't think the behavior is excusable because it didn't happen in a WNBA game. Courtney Williams was suspended for 2 games for getting into a fight (arguably in self defense) at a food truck. Behavior off the court is a valid basis for league action. Had some end of bench player done the same thing - she likely would be blackballed by the league and never appear in another WNBA game. Giving star athletes special treatment (or freedom from consequences) is, unfortunately, the American way.
Might go without saying, but this is probably the last season the Ogwumikes spend in LA (may be Chiney’s last year anyway if she opts to retire). Nneka at least might just quietly bail on LA next year and call it good.
But it would be nice if someone said something at this point. Sometimes it takes one person to pave the way for everyone else to feel ‘comfortable’ enough to follow suit – even if it shouldn’t. 😕
Pick who you believe. Liz has not done a lot to win anyone's trust. Nneka saying the team discussed it and got past it seems pretty weak to me. Sort of "we let bygones be bygones."
Nneka's sister did play for Nigeria though I'm not sure she was on their team at the time. She would probably be in a position to know the truth. The fact that Nneka didn't deny the allegations does say something.
