They’ve long secured the best odds at getting Boston; KMitchell could’ve sat out several games ago. She got through yesterday’s game fine, so it seems like this was an injury she had been playing through. Interesting timing, considering it also happened to be the last home game wearing the Rebel unis. 🤔
Well, now that their season is over and they remain in Indiana for now, what needs to happen? Who should stay, who should go, who should be brought back?
As it stands, they're on track to own two Top-7 picks in the next draft, including what they surely hope is the winning ticket for the Boston Sweepstakes.
Waiting for Fever relocation news is like waiting for conference realignment news in the college sports world. Could be days, could be months, could be... longer... And yet, I'll be feeling the suspense of it all the entire time. 🥴
I don't think we hear anything until after the WNBA wraps up. This is all under the assumption that they are actually relocating.
Exactly. Though I do think that eventually they'll find themselves moving out of Indiana, unless Herb Simon only tries selling the team to a group who'll keep 'em in town. And even then...
“I’ve already had a particular team reach out to me and say, ‘I want to talk to you about some of your personnel and see if you’re interested in a potential trade,’” she said. “Maybe they want to get younger, and maybe we want to get a little more veteran leadership, and so the potential to use one of our rookies in a trade is very possible.”
No suggestion they are going to be anywhere but Indianapolis. The article also makes it seem like Dunn has gone from Interim GM to GM. If the team was moving that seems sort of unlikely.
I'm not convinced the team isn't moving yet. It's certainly possible that the local reporters and even those who work for the organization like Lin Dunn aren't yet acknowledging or don't even recognize what's on the horizon.
All I'm saying is, given all the highly questionable business decisions we saw the Fever make this past season, that's a bizarre and horrendous way of running the franchise if you're actually keeping it beyond this year, let alone in the long run.
The Tulsa Shock relocating to Dallas was known just days before the Shock clinched a playoff birth. They were under the (nearly) same ownership though.

I was about to say that I don't think they have many rookies that would trade, but I rethought it and honestly any of the ones they drafted could be an interesting snatch for something - even Henderson and Hull

So if they were serious about Hollingshed, Bell, Hull and Pointer doesn't say much about their evaluation of talent. None of them look like WNBA they will ever be successful WNBA players.
