Thanks for the links. I loved reading about Kushkituah's growth between last spring and now. It sounds like she has worked really hard to improve upon all facets of her life. Not sure she'll end up elevating herself into a WNBA prospect, but it sure seems like she's setting herself for her best season, so I really hope it happens for her!
The 5-10 guard was rated as the second-best transfer player by ESPN.com. She averaged 16.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, while shooting 46% from the three-point line this past season.
She should be a senior this year. Most of the projected starters for Texas A&M will be seniors... another team with a bevy of 2021 prospects to keep a close eye on this season (fellow SEC competitor Arkansas is another).
When I named her High School Player of the Year over Katie Lou Samuelson -- because she had a better senior season than KLS -- people howled. And then she got sick and got hurt, and only now is showing what she can really do.
I'm not going to claim (yet) that Patberg will outshine KLS, but it's simply good to see her healthy and playing up to the potential she showed in high school.
Patberg is hard to judge if she will be good or not in the W. She kind of reminds me of Kathleen Doyle but has shown signs of being another KLS. This will make it hard to place her in the draft. Is she a first round pic? Second round? Is she simply training camp fodder?
I'm not crazy about how Patberg sort of hoists(?) her 3s. I don't know if that's the right word to use to describe it, but there's something off about it imo. I like her craftiness inside the arc though.
Patberg screams "great college player" to me. She's definitely smart & savvy enough to manipulate a game. But I don't know how far she'd get in the W where she'll be at a stark disadvantage with her lack of footspeed and lack of athleticism. She also plays PG, where it normally takes a few years to settle in anyway. And like fellow PG prospect Tiana Mangakahia, she's an older prospect (I believe this is Patberg's 6th year as a collegiate). I think she'll be a typical camp-fodder 3rd-round pick, and maybe won't even get drafted. She does have good size for a PG at 5'11 though, fwiw.

Didi Richards getting badly injured yesterday during practice. If she's out this season, does she still stand to get drafted?
On one hand, she probably redshirts and hopes she can play basketball next fall. On the other, if she still makes herself available for the 2021 Draft but can't play this summer, teams could find her to be an intriguing deferral pick.
But no matter what, I hope her spinal injury will fully heal itself at some point – even if she can't play competitive basketball anymore.
Richards’ official diagnosis is a Spinal Cord Injury Without Radiographic Abnormality (SCIWORA) and she is temporarily impaired, which means her level of functioning is significantly different than what it would be normally. However, Richards did not break anything and other adults with the same injury tend to recover quickly.
Thanks for the link, toad. Everyone generally seemed to be on the correct lists based on their class standing, so that was nice.
For the seniors list, Janelle Bailey at #4 was a real headscratcher; I don’t have her getting drafted unless she improves her dreadful FG%. Replace her with Natasha Mack (who was inexplicably left off the list) and the list becomes significantly more sensical.
Onyenwere topping the list was a small surprise, though there is no clear best senior of course so it could’ve been anyone at #1. I would’ve picked Davis. Destiny Slocum could have a big year if Arkansas is indeed the right program for her style of play; she seems like legit 1st-round talent and I can see her doing well in the W.
Onyenwere is still going to be a first round pick. It really is a weak draft. Hence why it'll be good for any early enters to declare. Yeah, Bailey is way too high. She's too clunky and has poor hands.
