I don't think there's any way to prevent players from making money outside their WNBA income.
In short, the salary cap is completely unenforceable.

The people in Nevada upset about government money being used for sports cannot be happy.

Saw this coming. I'm sure a few of the other teams aren't happy about this. If this is allowed, it's only a matter of time before other teams get big $$$ sponsors. Watch a company attach themselves to Clark and the Fever for a similar amount next.

So the league will prevent players from receiving income? I'm sure that will smooth the CBA negotiations.
It's clear there are under-the-table payments now, and at least this one is overt not covert.
The long-term CBA solution seems pretty hard to unravel. Richer owners are going to be able to attract more talent by getting players or their families more money from outside sources, and I can't think of any way to keep that from happening.
The only way to keep this from being standard operating procedure is for the salaries to be so large that an extra $100,000, say, isn't a significant percentage of a player's income. And I just don't see that in the near future.

Speculation on who they'll bring in, especially if Gray is going to be out for awhile. Sims? D-Rob? AD Durr?

Aces signed Tiffany Hayes. I thought this might be an option after Hayes initially appears on an Azerbaijan roster for an upcoming 3x3 event that theoretically would have kept her out of the league for the season due to prioritization only to disappear from the roster a few days later.
