as obvious as it is that this team is poised to call itself “Golden State”, i do wonder if that’s the right moniker for this team. “Golden State” is just so incredibly specific to the Warriors as a location name; i wouldn’t want the W team to get overshadowed by that, since they’re going to get overshadowed by being the Warriors' W team anyway. but then, the W gets overshadowed by its parent company all the same. maybe it’s just not gonna matter regardless. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
my favorites remain Valks, Bridgers, and Breeze. if alliteration applies w/ Golden State, Bay Area, California, NorCal, etc. then go for it. otherwise the location could be any of those.
let’s see how they go about naming the team now. hope they involve the local fans somehow.
AASEG has been a mirage from day one. They didn't even submit a formal bid.
And I still don't know if Alana Beard has been in the Bay Area in the past five years. For someone who's supposed to be a big part of the organization, her invisibility makes no sense -- unless of course there's no there there.
the only thing that’s too bad about the now-real expansion team is that it won’t be playing its games at Oakland Coliseum aka Arena, a smaller & more centralized location easier for fans to get to than Chase Center. but obviously we know why they’re playing in Chase Center: Warriors themselves own it, and Engelbert probably demanded it.

Lacob mentioned wanting to fill the calendar for the Chase Center for the summer. A WNBA team gives them 20 dates now.
