Aces and Liberty split their regular season series 2-2. They also met in the Commissioner's Cup final, which the Liberty won.
I know the playoffs were always split due to conferences up until 2016? But that's insane!
it makes sense. the teams historically have had trouble just getting to the Finals. even after the W scrapped conference brackets in the playoffs, the then-Stars were bad both in the years leading up to & in the midst of their transition to Vegas, and once the Aces started becoming good in 2019, the Liberty started becoming really bad. the two franchises have either just been bad at the same time, or not been good at the same time – up until this year.
Sad! But exciting! I was trying to go to a game in Vegas 🥺 Still be fun to watch on TV I suppose!!
They'll probably sell standing room tickets the day of each game.
Meanwhile, I'm expecting Barclays to be sold out by the time Oct. 15 arrives. Majority of the arena is available for sale outside of 8 sections in the 200s. Lower bowl tickets were $100 and up and they're very limited currently. Upper bowl seats are selling for $50(w/fees). Can't wait to experience a packed Barclays Arena. Kudos to Joe Tsai for being able to do this in just 3 years.
As for the actual games, here's a thought: Have Sabrina guard Kiah Stokes and put Laney on Chelsea Gray. Or even Stewart. Gray is really good but she's not blindingly quick.
Vandersloot has to stay in front of Plum regardless.
Curious for New York if Han Xu comes back. The Asian Games' basketball tournament ends on Oct. 5. Even if Han waits to come back until the Liberty's home games on Oct. 15. Not that Han would play, but it could be an indication on whether Han is done with the Liberty or not.
