Still hope they don’t take the lazy way out by just bringing back Dangerfield to run the point and not bringing in others to seriously challenge her, but otherwise, this is a much more realistic depth chart post-signing Stewart.
Richards probably doesn’t have trade value at this point, but maybe you could get a future 2RP for Onyenwere.
I am hoping Lindsay Allen comes back to NY. Not a flashy signing but a steady one, with potentially improved shooting 6-7 from distance for a 26 point explosion with Minnesota last season. 5’8, good ball handler and looks to pass. I love Dangerfield but am okay moving forward from her. She’s not exactly getting a lot of assists, gives up too much height on defense, and didn’t hit the 3 like I hoped she would.
Be kind to yourself, the way you expect others to be kind to you.
I agree that Lindsay Allen is absolutely worth a look. In the role that Dangerfield played for New York, I think Allen could fill that role better than Dangerfield. Allen is more of a natural game-managing passing PG, whereas Dangerfield still seems to be more of a true 'scoring' PG... but her effectiveness is hindered if she's not scoring or being allowed to really look for her own shot.
Bring Dangerfield into Camp, but if she's still the same player she was last season, I say that's not good enough for a team with contention expectations, regardless of whether or not Breanna Stewart is brought into the fold.

Johannes is put in a bench role for the French national team. I do think she plays for them only because the Olympics are in Paris in 2024 and I'd assume she wants to be on the team for that. Liberty probably get her after the All-star break at a pro-rated salary.
There are a few layers to this potential trade. Still processing.
This is wild. If this framework is true, New York is apparently willing to give up Howard – though JJones essentially replaces her salary and sort of her starting spot. So many questions.
—New York: Will JJ re-sign after 2023? If not, and 2023 doesn’t end in a championship for NY, then will this have been worth it? (Howard signed through 2024) Also, with Dangerfield gone, does NY do something else for PG?
—Dallas: What does this mean for the role of Sabally? Moving to the 3 fulltime? On the trading block, too? Also, re-signing McCowan and Mabrey just got a lot more tricky cap-wise, if that’s even still happening (probably not lmao). Also, Dangerfield being acquired means what for Burton or Harris?
—Connecticut re-signing BJones now that they have more cap space? Not a terrible trade for them if so.
—Bonus: Breanna Stewart no longer to NY? Aka back to Seattle?? Please?? 😬

New York still has enough cap space for another supermax contract so Breanna Stewart to NY is still possible...
Yeah Dallas' situation is messy. Not a huge fan of Sabally at the 3 - I think her and Howard at the 4/5 is an intriguing prospect. Have to wait to see how the Gray situation resolves.
I assume Connecticut will re-sign Brionna Jones but who knows, she may want out too now. Interesting times in Connecticut.

Yeah, I’m still scared. Maybe even more now. Idr for sure, but I think Stewart and Jones have played together in Russia before. They’d be the flat-out best post duo in the league, and it wouldn’t be close.

Harris got/is getting dealt to Connecticut. So it’s just Burton now. Clouden and Hiedeman might be wondering what their role is or not going to be

But can Sandy coach them to wins tho?

Lmao I read that and couldn’t even process it apparently! 😵💫 Well, that answers that. As for Hiedeman, she’d probably gone. Does JThomas go with her or stick around? Who knows. Need to see what LA does now.
I have to wonder if Dolson’s also now on the trading block for NY. Probably?

How much would she have to do honestly? Kind of becomes a situation where she just needs to get outta the way most of the time and let them do their thing, and just not 'over-coach' them per se.
