So I've also been thinking. I'm slightly surprised that we haven't signed Banham again. We announced a sling of 5 signings of most of our returnees (and TMitch) and then we signed 3 training camp contractees, but no Banham. So either she is potentially fielding more offers or maybe she might be done with the league? Or maybe we are trying to figure out our PG situation (Mo Jeff/Mabrey/Someone Else) and she is on the back burner.
Also I don't love bringing in more guards/wings when we have the #2 and I hope we would take Miller. Based on the below chart, makes me wonder if Duwelius and Company aren't looking to package the #2 with something or someone to make a move.
Now based on the above: All of SFs can play multiple positions. I could even see Reeve starting AP at the 1 and going with no PG. Then after about 3 games, I think she will be losing hair and it could be over, but I do remember her trying that 2 years ago before AP hurt her thumb. I could also see maybe Reeve going with Phee at the 4 and Powers at the 3 for a starting group.

if Minnesota can stay relatively healthy, then this team – i hate to say it! i hope i don’t sound ridiculous! – has a chance at being a playoff team, especially if another team or two has as bad of luck as the Lynx had last season…
…and especially if the Lynx get a good fit at #2 – and imo they need to hold onto that pick at least until everyone knows exactly who’s gonna be available to be picked from the draft pool

Reeve is gambling again with Banham at PG experiment. Who knows who'll be starting by opening day. I wouldn't bank on this Lynx team without a quality PG making the playoffs.

Lindsay Allen’s still the truest PG they’ve got – if her limited action last season meant anything, it’s that she may be a good fit as a 5th-option type since McBride, Powers, and Collier will certainly be able to get theirs
in that way, Banham could once again be ok as a mini-microwave (toaster oven?) off the bench

I look forward to Cheryl Reeve complaining more about the obvious deficiencies of the roster she has helped to put together.
If Collier can find her 2019-2020 form and Powers and McBride can get back to 2021 form (at least), then I can see the Lynx contending for the playoffs. Aerial Powers stunk enough last year that I would automatically play Diamond Miller over her but I don't think it's going to work out like that lol. Their lack of a good defensive 5 is going to hurt them though and the point guard situation isn't ideal.
the 5-out look with Dantas playing a stretch-5 role in place of an injured Fowles did seem to work for them in the wubble season, as lynxmania eluded to earlier
Diamond Miller would certainly know a positionless system well, given Maryland’s lack of true post players on their roster this year
(those who have watched Maryland this year would have an idea as to whether or not she herself is having to play some de facto 5 on either end as a result)

What a boring group of 11. Fowles retired, Tiffany Mitchell came on in her place, and a non-#1 lottery pick. 😐 That kind of [lack of] change between seasons for a given team used to be commonplace in this league, and now it’s considered deeply unsexy.
Too, these draft picks have been diminishing in value across the board since the supermax-contracts era began as has been noticed before – and they weren’t all that valuable to begin with. You can be a Top-8 pick and still find yourself off the team & out of the league 0-1 year upon getting drafted.

toad455 you don't think Stephanie Watts or Maya Dodson can make my team? lmao
no. Only if Watts can beat out Banham/the #12 pick, but she's not really a PG. Dodson would need to beat out Milic for a spot and I doubt that happens.
