That sure as hell ain’t three years. Welp, this is for all the jerks & weirdos out there who genuinely weren’t convinced yet that she was being wrongfully detained – now are they convinced? Fuck them!
Officially time to conduct the prisoner swap and bring her home now that this sham of a trial is over.
And the amount of MAGA folks cheering for her imprisonment is shameful. Sad day for this country.
All I wanna say is, there are so many actual "sheeple" in this country who would ironically call the rest of us "sheeple" while calling themselves "free thinkers." They're so far down the Non-Reality rabbit hole, they could look their own ass in the face and not know what it was.

Those people probably wrote stuff on bathroom Walls before the internet, Facebook and Twitter came along to increase their reach. The Russians just proved how little they follow their own laws. Don't think this going to be resolved soon. Shame that BG has to suffer through this for even one day longer.
Of course, conservatives are all up in arms that it's not an even trade and she should have to serve her entire 9 year sentence.
Ahh yes, conservatives – who as we all know stand proudly upon the highest ground of morals & values these days. The only things they stand for nowadays are negligible or even flat-out fabricated culture wars, as well as accusing the other side of all the things they themselves are actually guilty of.
Too, it’s never lost on me that a significant number of the replies in the comments of any given W-related post on social media, let alone the ones referring strictly to BG’s situation, in fact belong to Russian bot/troll accounts. It’d be nice if more people recognized this – it’s not like these accounts are that difficult to pick out & see right through.
(Sorry for the long aside! Though imo the subject matter in the latter paragraph needed to be said.)

Conservatives love America, but hate half the people living here.
Blagovolina and co-counsel Alexander Boykov said after the conviction that the sentence was excessive and that in similar cases defendants have received an average sentence of about five years, with about a third of them granted parole.
We've heard very little on the release front recently even despite the Rodman drama, which experts say is a good sign that the negotiating parties may actually be actively hammering out details. I'm still hoping BG will be home by Christmas.
USA TODAY Sports has identified at least 31 men and one woman who are expected to play – with the signings confirmed by either the player's representation or the team itself – in Russia’s top professional league, a development that several basketball executives and global security experts view as highly risky considering the ongoing tensions between the American and Russian governments. ...
Most of the players heading to Russia are a long way off the NBA's radar, though a few of them – James Ennis, Vince Hunter and Malcolm Thomas – have some experience in the league. Unique Thompson [a 2021 Auburn graduate who has previously played for Spartak in Vidnoje, Russia – about 50 minutes from Moscow], whose deal is not yet signed, was on the Dallas Wings' training camp roster this spring. ...
Julianne Dinda of Shark Sports Managements, Thompson’s agency, said that Thompson, who is currently playing in Australia and not available for comment, “supports Brittney and we support Brittney, too. At the same time, her (Thompson’s) goal is to get back into the WNBA” and playing in Russia gives Thompson the best chance to do that. Dinda said Shark Sports has been in regular contact with the U.S. government to assure players’ safety, adding that she’s heard of “multiple (American) women” who have signed to play in Russia in the coming months. She did not provide any other players' names.
If Thompson follows through with this, I too wonder how it'd be received at her next Training Camp – if she even gets to another one. It's different for the men, but I think with the solidarity the women have instilled amongst their sport in support of Griner, Thompson may just get exiled in a Training Camp and ultimately released because the mainstays don't want her on their team – even if she's good enough, which imo she was this past camp in Dallas. Though I'm not sold either way whether or not her other WNBA campmates would be able to look the other way this once, or not.
Unique Thompson probably has nothing to worry about in Russia, same as the 31 men who are going there. They are not the kind of "high profile" individuals that are useful as hostages. Unique may face some cold shoulders if she ever gets another WNBA camp invite, though players may also understand the economic reality of those unable to make WNBA rosters.
