30-year-old Betnijah Laney has to guard the other team's best perimeter player.
Or, to put it another way, try to score 80 every game.
I think we will put up points, especially with a healthy JJ to start the season and a competent Stewie (playoffs were rough 🥺).
Defensively on the perimeter, I’m hoping Sloot’s minutes start to dwindle a little, and we get more time for Burke and Thornton with Sab playing more point. I like the additions of Burke and Davis for length and athleticism defensively on the perimeter. Dojkic also has good size and seemed to make some good reads, so hoping we can improve on defense.
Be kind to yourself, the way you expect others to be kind to you.
based on a recent IG post, people are suggesting Betnijah Laney may be pregnant. Her contract wouldn't could towards the salary if she's out for the season. Likely inserts Fiebich or Burke as the starting SF.

Congrats to B, if true. Looking forward to seeing what Fiebich can add to NY.

Ahhhh congrats if true B!!! 👑 Will miss her though 🥶, if she’s out for the season.
I am hoping Davis turns into a solid defensive player and midrange slasher. She really does remind me of Copper with her offensive game style! 🙏🏽
Sloot/Dojkic Sab/Davis Burke/Fiebich Stewie/KT JJ/Nyara 11/12: Fraser/Green or Mawuli? I feel like they’ll go with experienced ‘rookies’ compared to out of college rookies, aside from Marquesha. ***Laney

I am hoping Phoenix takes some time to gel together and we get a solid pick next season instead of 11/12 (assuming Vegas finishes first again, and GS gets a pick right after the lottery). I could see it being 7th or 8th pick.

Green was waived yesterday. Probably Martinez or Carter make it. Laney makes $180k this season, which is enough to cover two rookie contracts. I wouldn't mind Sherrod as an extra PG if we can fit 12.
Until we know about whether Laney is in or out this season, I say let's lay low on roster speculation. There were pictures of her over the weekend at an event and she doesn't look pregnant at all. If she's participating in training camp come April 28, then that'll put any rumors to rest.

I am also rooting for Jessika, her mental health journey and story is a big one. But she also brings good size, defense, rebounding and strength on the court 🙌🏽

Definitely rather have her than not have her!

Yeah, we could use another big considering Jones and Sabally are both injury prone. But with only room for 11, it seems doubtful.
Hungary was not supposed to be playing this late, but the 3x3 Olympic qualifying process modified their schedule. All top 8 teams in Hungary will be playing past the start of training camp, but historically teams with no European or championship positions at stake have let players go to training camp. What makes this case more interesting is that DVTK has five foreigners on the roster so they have to sit one of them in each game and Tadic is usually their fifth choice, including the last game, behind Kaila Charles, Monika Grigalauskyte, Darcee Garbin, and Milica Jovanovic. They may want a taller player to go against Anigwe in the finals, but if things are going well, they may not have her in the lineup at all. The other story to watch when the finals start on Wednesday is whether Gyor lets Bridget Carleton leave.
