Didn't watch the game because I went out with friends, but happy that Team Aces lost lmao jk
I think Vegas does a really good job at hosting (mainly because it's Vegas), but they need to figure out how to get more than 9,500 people to an All-Star game, IMO.
Jewell sounds like was fantastic! Phee played well based on the boxscore!
I'm sure next year's will be better considering it's most likely going to be USA vs All-Stars

Aces have advertised that they've had two sellouts this season, but both numbers are different. Michelob Ultra Arena reportedly holds 12,000, but neither sellouts were over 11,000. And the All-star game drew under 10k.
even in an NBA ASG where there are flashy dunks galore, IMO [fwiw] they still kind of wear out their welcome. although some people don't get tired of male athletes flexing their muscles, per se. i don’t get it, and yet i do.
improvement of the women’s ASG imo would first have to involve a lot more flashy passing (behind the back, between the legs, etc) – much more than we saw yesterday, even with Chelsea Gray on the floor more minutes than not. and she herself barely attempted any spicy passes!
the addition of the 4pt shot is nice in theory, until the players either prove they can’t make them, or they start to but then inevitably start bricking them like they sorta did in this game during the 2nd half. even then, only Sabrina Ionescu was even semi-consistent from 4pt land for the day. (man, can she shoot!)
otherwise, the only other thing i can think of implementing are super intricate set plays that get some “ooh’s” and lingering light cheers out of the crowd, but even that would require more practice time.
the league will need to keep shooting spitballs at the wall and hope something sticks, which is sorta scary since it arguably has a checkered history with innovation (unless anyone would like to say otherwise – Prioritization at least stands as a solid concept in my eyes). as it is right now though, it’s true that the ASG stays cringy to watch in general.

Griner's dunks were embarrassing, really. Those are supposed to legitimize the women's game? Please ...
How about a three-on-three tourney with the winners getting $10,000 or something? Pick the all-stars, then draft three-on-three teams. Let's say there's eight -- that means the winning team would play three games.
Or do pool play and then a championship.
Or one-on-one. You get four dribbles from the top of the key ...
Isn’t this the first time it’s gotten prime time? Or did I make that up
Primetime on ABC.
it may be “Primetime,” but that doesn’t mean all that much when the day of the week it’s on is still a Saturday… Sunday even during the day would be better imo
The game is awful and a bad look for casual basketball fans who are checking in on the WNBA. The fewer people who see it the better, as some may feel it's what women's basketball is really like.
