I know this is not WBB, but Purdue men are losing with 1 minute left. They are a 1 seed
wonder when we’ll see a wbb game involving a 16 seed upsetting a full-strength 1 seed that obviously deserved to be a 1 seed (the '98 Stanford-Harvard game discourse has obviously come up again, hence the specificity within that phrase lol)

10-seed Princeton beating 7-seed NC State, even without Diamond Johnson, felt like much more of an upset than 11-seed Mississippi State beating 6-seed Creighton
probably cuz of the 'Power-5 school vs. non-Power-5' dynamics at play with both matchups
a few halfway-decent games today. all the matchups with hosting seeds though were suh-noooooz-fests
Since expansion was used to get more mediocre P5 teams into the tournament it has proved to be a really bad thing for the other 250 plus programs. Got to get that 18-12 9-9 8th place SEC team in over a 24-7 15-3 non Power5.

those that even played in the First Four play-in games, even if they won, were probably better off being in the WNIT. hard enough on the mbb side, but on the wbb side, the likelihood of a lower seed let alone a double-digit seed reaching the Final Four is practically microscopic.
the idea of the Tourney expanding beyond 68 which is apparently a thing is downright sacrilegious. it’d be so awful for college basketball imo.
btw, welcome!

If the men do it, the women will too -- regardless of whether it makes sense. (That's why we have all these money-losing conference tournaments for women ...)
